HAMILTON HARBOUR APARTMENTS
Foyer Refurb & Landings Update

With all new apartments being constructed around Portside, Hamilton it wasn't hard to see why this apartment building needed a little updating. It needs to keep up with all the contemporary interiors new residents have to choose from.

The foyer and landings were looking a little worn and tired. The body corporate chose the theme of 'Old Brisbane'. And how beautiful did it turn out?

Firstly, we replaced the non-descript portrait canvases with nostalgic, gorgeous black and white photos which capture early life around Portside to The Story Bridge.

Pictures are laminated onto ACM board and fixed securely to the walls. Each picture is approximately 1.2 x 1.5m. There are 2 pictures on each level - 15 levels were changed.

Using the historical Brisbane photos as inspiration, I aimed to create an old world glamour feel, whilst remaining contemporary.

The client asked to keep the mirror, rug and asked if the orange peel chairs could be reupholstered. I wanted to keep and update the marble coffee table also. A new metal frame was constructed to hold the marble. It turned out so beautiful.

Amazing what new luxe fabric and gold powdercoating can achieve.

I worked with my printers to custom design wallpaper for both walls. A custom made fluted bench seat was also constructed and is the perfect choice for people to sit and wait or meet residents in the building.

Oh, and the lighting! What a difference the glass pendants make to the space compared to the oversized fabric UFO like shade they replaced.

If you have a commercial space that needs updating, then I'd love to chat with you about your ideas and help you achieve the new look for your business and building.
